Words & Music Monday with Alice Clayton

I don’t even have the words for how happy today’s featured author makes me. I love her books, and she’s a joy to be around. Even though the majority of my reading is in the paranormal romance genre, when I need something different… Alice Clayton is one of my go-to, always awesome, contemporary romance authors. I’m sure you’ve all heard about the hilarious perfection (IMHO) that is WALLBANGER. (And did you hear the NEWS??? More about that soon.) Today we’re a stop on the blog tour that’s helping Alice celebrate the release of the final book in her Redhead series, THE REDHEAD PLAYS HER HAND.

So… Alice is giving us the scoop on the music that goes along with all of Jack and Grace’s fun-loving shenanigans.

1) When you write, do you listen to music?

YES! I have to have something playing in the background, my ear buds need to be in for me to totally  concentrate.

2) Do you play certain types of music, or certain songs, to get in the mood for  certain scenes? Do any of your books have playlists?
I usually like to  listen to the Prodigy station on Pandora, it seems to not only make me  write faster but I can’t really sing along so I don’t get distracted.  Classical music also helps, especially when I am trying to work  something out. There are a few songs that I put on my website from  Wallbanger, big band music mostly. But my Redhead Series, that not only  has a playlist, there’s a chapter by chapter soundtrack! <<insert Jennifer’s fangirl squeel, here>> Check it out at  aliceclayton.com
3) Do any of your main characters have “theme songs”. Any couples?
There  are a few songs that most certainly bring to mind different scenes,  especially from The Redhead Series. Into The Mystic by Van Morrison,  I’ll Go Crazy if I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight by U2, Until She Comes by  Psychedlic Furs, those are all good ones from that series.
4) What is your own, personal theme song? If you don’t have one, who would you like to write one for you?
Oh my goodness, what a great question! I don’t have a theme song, but I do have a Top 5, that occasionally  rotates but is usually something like:
Into The Mystic
With or Without You
Mustang Sally
Stand By Me
****** SO… who wants an ebook copy of a book in the Redhead series?? One commenter below will get receive their choice of one of the Redhead books. Whether you haven’t started yet, or you’re dying to get your hands on Jack (and Grace) in book 3… this one’s on me. To enter – tell me in the comments what YOUR theme song is 🙂 If you don’t a specific theme song, tell me one song that always makes you happy. Thanks to Alice for taking a few minutes out of her crazy schedule for chatting with us. I can’t wait to see your song choices!! 1. Comment by KV:

My theme song is Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin.

  2. Comment by Elise-Maria Barton:

I’m not sure that others would consider Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Going to Come” a happy song, but it’s always been a favorite of mine, and my go-to song when I’m feeling low.

Thx for the giveaway and hope ur holidays are fantastic

  3. Comment by Maureen:

I can relate to This Is Me by Faith Hill. Thanks for the giveaway!
