Words & Music Monday with Linda Poitevin

Hello my lovelies!!

This week’s guest has just released the second novel in The Grigori Legacy series, SINS OF THE SON. Linda Poitevin’s angel themed urban fantasy series has been getting rave reviews. Today she stops by on her blog tour to share a little of her playlist for the series… (oh… and there will be prizes!!! read below…)

The Grigori Legacy Playlist

Because music so heavily affects my inspiration, I thought I’d share a glimpse of my playlist with you…along with notes about how each song relates to what I’m writing. This is just a fraction of what’s on my iPhone (currently I’m at 102 songs), but it will give you an idea of my somewhat eclectic tastes in music!

Evil Angel (Breaking Benjamin) – my daughter refers to this as my “theme song” because I write about evil angels and have voices in my head…I love my daughter! J

Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley) – I love listening to this as I’m writing the quieter, more introspective scenes, especially the ones that involve the One.

Heaven Coming Down (The Tea Party) – the title kind of speaks for itself…love the chorus in this.

Hero (Chad Kroeger) – I like to think of this as Alex’s song: “I can hear heaven, but heaven, no heaven don’t hear me…they say that a hero can save us, I’m not gonna stand here and wait” pretty much defines her.

Losing My Religion (R.E.M.) – this one makes me feel Alex’s struggle to come to terms with the One’s existence and perceived abandonment of humanity.

Sail (AWOL Nation) – I just plain love this one and crank it up every chance I get. J

This is War (30 Seconds to Mars) – makes me think of the looming war between Heaven and Hell, and how it’s going to affect humanity.

Time is Running Out (Muse) – also speaks for itself.

What I’ve Done (Linkin Park) – such a strong, driving song…I really feel both Aramael’s and Michael’s conflicts in this one.

The End is Where We Begin (Our Lady Peace) – this song relates to the final scene in Sins of the Son…and I’ll leave you to figure out why. J

Just for the record… I have a special place in my heart for any author who is inspired by 30 Seconds To Mars… Linda, you’ve now entered that place. *LOVES*

So… have YOU read this awesome new series? What do you think about Linda’s playlist? Do you see the connection between the songs and the characters/scenes the same way she does??
